(May 14, 2024) - The second major of 2024 will be contested at Valhalla Golf Club later this week. So ahead of the 2024 PGA Championship, we decided to check out which native New Englanders have won the title. Check out the list below!
Henry Picard

Born: Plymouth, Massachusetts
PGA Championship Year: 1939
Course: Pomonok Country Club (NY)
Notes: Defeated Byron Nelson with a playoff on the 37th hole of what was then a match play final.

Doug Ford

Born: West Haven, Connecticut

Course: Meadowbrook Country Club (MI)
Notes: Earned a 4&3 victory over Cary Middlecoff

Julius Boros

Born: Fairfield, Connecticut
PGA Championship Year: 1968
Course: Pecan Valley Golf Club (TX)
Notes: One-stroke victory over Bob Charles and Arnold Palmer. Boros, 48 years old, at the time of his victory, became the oldest player to ever win a major championship. He held that distinction until 2021 when Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship as a 50-year-old.

Paul Azinger
