(May 21, 2024) - A big year of professional golf is on tap for the New England region. In totality, five tours will visit New England in 2024 highlighted by the U.S. Senior Open at Newport Country Club, the Travelers Championship, and the inaugural FM Global Championship on the LPGA Tour.

The PGA Tour will return to TPC River Highlands for the 2024 Travelers Championship. A Signature Event, the Travelers Championship will welcome the best players on the PGA Tour. Among those already committed are defending champion and Woodstock, Vermont native Keegan Bradley, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, and Max Homa.

For the first time since 2017 when Kenny Perry won at Salem Country Club (MA) the U.S. Senior Open returns to New England. This time USGA championship golf returns to one of its founding clubs, Newport Country Club. The famed club will become the sixth course to host a U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Senior Open.

After a successful inaugural event in 2023, the tournament returns in 2024. Last year Jenny Bae captured the title in a seven hole playoff for her first Epson Tour title. 20 players from the 2023 field are now competing on the LPGA Tour.

The 2024 LPGA Tour stop will mark the beginning of a five-year commitment. A field of 144 players will compete for a $3.5 million purse. Besides majors, it is one of the largest on tour. TPC Boston was a longtime PGA Tour host welcoming 17 tournaments.
