New Englanders love golf! In fact New England golf has some of the oldest courses in the country. The oldest being Newport Country Club in Rhode Island. Founded in 1893, Newport Country Club will be the site of this year’s U.S. Senior Open.
Golf is embedded deep into the fabric of New England life. The region not only features some of the most famous private clubs in the country but also boosts a wealth of special courses that are open to all where the history and camaraderie run deep.
There are courses along the coast, courses that weave through forests. There are links courses and courses set against the base of mountains.
The diversity of the New England golf landscape makes it special. It makes it unique and it makes it a location full of stories waiting to be told.
